Purpose & Scope of Position
A Contracts Engineer is responsible for managing and overseeing the contractual aspects of projects, ensuring that agreements are executed effectively and in compliance with legal and organizational standards. This role involves negotiating, drafting, and administering contracts, as well as resolving any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.

Location: IIT Kanpur – Hospital Building Project

Experience: 12 plus years
We are looking for 12 plus years of experienced Sr. Electrical or Mechanical Engineer to join our team as MEPF Coordinator for a prestigious hospital building project at IIT Kanpur. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth execution of MEPF works, monitor progress, and maintain quality standards.
- Day to day progress monitoring at site, identification of constraints causing delay, inadequacies of resources deployment.
- Co-ordinate and Interface for Construction & Erection with Client, Various Contractors, Client & Design Team
- Supervise works for conformity to design drawings, specifications and relevant codes and verify / check for compliance to QC Guidelines, Approved procedures & good construction practices.
- Approval of Contractor’s work plan
- To identify constraints due to ‘holds’ in the drawings or any other clarifications. In consultation with design consultant, get them released.
- Monitor deliveries with respect to committed delivery schedules.
- Interact with SCE of other disciplines and PM to monitor smooth working at site.
- Review of QA / QC formats for commissioning and comment. Performance test for various equipment as per specification. Commissioning assistance for all systems.
- Be responsible for quality control and adherence to schedules in respect of work supervised.
- Bring to the attention of PM problems regarding drawings, quality, delays etc.
- Collect data from Contractors for progress reporting on day-to-day basis. Maintain records, with respect to manpower, machinery, site conditions, daily progress etc.
- Record ‘as built’ conditions on construction drawings
- Ensure that machines, equipment, vessels, piping, instruments, structures and other materials are properly erected installed and maintained according to approved specification and drawings.
- Ensure that the erected equipment conforms to the flow diagrams, construction drawings, manufacturer’s instruction and project specifications.
- Review the installed is complete and accurate for commissioning activities and is in accordance with design documents.
- Monitor installation, submittals, and usage of engineering tools adhering to project commissioning guidelines.
- Prepare commissioning report. Outline procedure, norms and detail for writing of system manual (if required)
- Review functional checklist completed by the contractor
- Ensure to provision of O&M documentation of contractor supplied equipment. Submitting vendor equipment start up and testing procedure with safety information.
