Position: Planning Engineer
Location: Gadchiroli, Maharashtra
Industry: Industrial Projects / Mining & Mineral Processing
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 8 to 12 Years

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to support the planning, scheduling, monitoring, and control of a large-scale industrial project in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. The candidate will be responsible for developing project schedules, tracking progress, identifying project risks, and ensuring timely completion of project milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project (MSP).
  • Prepare baseline schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), resource plans, and project milestones.
  • Track engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning progress against approved schedules.
  • Perform critical path analysis and identify schedule risks and delays.
  • Prepare recovery plans and mitigation strategies to achieve project targets.
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and MIS reports.
  • Monitor contractor performance, productivity, manpower, and resource utilization.
  • Coordinate with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Project Management teams for schedule updates.
  • Participate in project review meetings and provide schedule status reports to management.
  • Monitor project deliverables and ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
  • Maintain project documentation, planning records, and progress measurement systems.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Mandatory hands-on experience in Primavera P6 and MS Project (MSP).
  • Strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and project controls.
  • Knowledge of project lifecycle management, resource planning, and progress measurement.
  • Experience in critical path analysis, delay analysis, and schedule recovery planning.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, reporting tools, and project dashboards.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and project execution plans.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in beneficiation plants, mining projects, steel plants, power plants, cement plants, material handling systems, or other large industrial projects.
  • Exposure to PMC, EPC, or Owner's Engineer environments.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary project planning and coordination.
