Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in any Discipline
Additional Qualification (Mandatory): PDIS (Post Diploma in Industrial Safety) or ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) from a State Government-recognized institute
Experience: 5 to 8 Years
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Engineer to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance for a large-scale industrial project in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. The candidate will be responsible for implementing safety policies, conducting safety inspections, monitoring site activities, and promoting a strong safety culture across the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor project Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management systems.
- Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations, company standards, and project HSE requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and workplace hazard assessments.
- Identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA).
- Facilitate toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness programs for project personnel.
- Monitor high-risk activities such as work at height, lifting operations, excavation, confined space entry, hot work, and electrical works.
- Ensure compliance with Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences and prepare detailed reports.
- Maintain safety records, registers, inspection reports, and statutory documentation.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness drills and ensure readiness of emergency response systems.
- Monitor availability and proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate with contractors, site engineers, and project management teams to ensure safe execution of work.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports and present safety performance metrics.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of industrial construction safety standards and regulations.
- Experience in implementing HSE management systems at project sites.
- Understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation techniques.
- Knowledge of Permit-to-Work systems and emergency response procedures.
- Strong communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture.
- Proficiency in MS Office and safety reporting systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
